Grade 3 Summer Curriculum ​

Day 1

  1. Place value and writing in words up to  hundred thousand 

  2. Rounding off to 10’s, 100’s, and 1000’s place 

  3. Dynamic +/- with large numbers

  4. Input / output table for +/-

  5. Challenge math on grade 2 topics

Day 2

  1. Estimate the sum or difference 

  2. Word problems  +/- &  rounding off 

  3. Odd and Even 

  4. Skip counting by 2, 3, 5 and 10 & their multiplication tables 

  5. Grouping by 2,3, 5 or 10 with/ without remainders

Day 3

  1. Online in class Session A Test 1 Based on topics learned this week.
    Test time: 45 minutes.

  2. Remaining time will be used to go over mistakes and discuss results. 

  3. Weekend homework packet

Grade 3  Session A - Week 1

Day 1

  1. Skip counting by 4,6 and 8 and tables 

  2.  Grouping by 4,6, 8 or 10 with/ without remainders

  3. Multiplication facts for 2,3,5,and 10 

  4. pattern/ sequence (increasing number, geometric, shapes)  

  5. Rule and truth about a pattern  

Day 2

  1. Skip counting by 7, 8 and 9 and multiplication tables and facts 
    Roman # ( 1-30) 

  2.  opposite numbers and integers on a number line 

  3. +/-  integers on a number line   

  4. Multi-step word problems +/-

Day 3

  1. Online in class Session A Test 2 Based on topics learned this week.
    Test time: 45 minutes.

  2. Remaining time will be used to go over mistakes and discuss results

  3. Weekend homework packet

  3. Fractions on a number line

Day 2

  1. 2 by 1-digit multiplication( with/ without carry over)  

  2. Multiplication by 10, 100 and 1000 
    Simple Division by 2 3,4,5 ( without remainder) 

Day 3

  1. Online in class Session B
    Test 1 Based on topics learned this week. Test time: 45 minutes.

  2. Remaining time will be used to go over mistakes and discuss results.

Grade 3  Session B - Week 1

Day 1

  1. Review (2-11) tables

  2. Simple Division by 2,3,4 5, 10 ( with remainder)  

  3. Decimals on a number line

  4. Basic fractions to decimals  ( ½= 0.5, ¼ =0.25, 1/10=0.1, 2½=2.5)

Day 2

  1. +/- decimals

  2. Lines of symmetry

  3.  Simple Elapsed time questions

  4.  Time and money word problems 

Day 3

  1. Online in class Session B Test 2 Based on topics learned this week.
    Test time: 45 minutes.

  2. Remaining time will be used to go over mistakes and discuss results.

  2. Interpret simple frequency charts and circle graphs 

  3. Interpreting transportation schedule 

Day 3
